Samuel Adams Winter Lager

Like It or not, 'tis the season, so I guess It's about that time; Time to start drinking... Winter Ales.
I've never been much of a go-to Sam Adams kind of guy because for me Sam Adams has always occupied this hokey space between the bad, tasteless, watered down lager piss you drink at family barbeques ect. and cheesy, over the top, craft ale breweries. Sam Adams even has the bad vintage labels with bad typography to support my suspicions that it is a beer that is trying too hard to be cool with the hip crowd and the football dad at the barbeque as well. That said, I fond this wheat Lager to taste pleasantly dark, almost like a light brown ale. Spices were not over the top, although I was glad I only picked up one 12oz bottle, because I could see how a 6 would get to be a bit boring and filling. Id say 7/10. Not a bad, semi-early start to the season. Happy Holidays and Cheers! my friends.
